Arrests at Festivals

The Performance Analysis Department have provided the following information.

To obtain this data they searched firstly within the Custody Universe for arrests within the following parameters:

Camp Bestival

Dates: 28 – 31 Jul 2022, 27 Jul – 30 Jul 2023, 25 – 28 Jul 2024

Keyword ‘Bestival’ within the Arrest Occurrence Summary, or a postcode of BH205QS.

Please note that it seems Bestival doesn’t exist anymore (since 2017) and is all just Camp Bestival.

End of the Road

Dates: 1 – 4 Sep 2022, 31 Aug – 3 Sep 2023, 29 Aug – 1 Sep 2024

Keyword ‘End of the Road’ within the Arrest Occurrence Summary. Postcode of SP55PY not recognised (may be outside of force area and into Wiltshire)

They then did roughly the same search in the Niche Crime Universe for linked arrests to occurrences but with the keywords ‘Bestival’ and ‘End of the Road’ within the Occurrence Summary.

The number of arrests made at the following music festivals in 2022, 2023, and 2024, broken down by arresting offence:

Bestival Festival
Camp Bestival Festival
End of the Road Festival

Where possible, please use Home Office offence classifications for consistency across police forces.

For each year (2022, 2023, and 2024), please provide data for the duration of the festival, including any days before/after if arrests are recorded in connection with the event.

Please provide this information in Excel or CSV format, listing the festival name, year, and arresting offence.

If providing data for all years exceeds the cost/time limit, please prioritise the most recent data (e.g., just 2023 and 2024).

These searches returned two arrests. Both within the same occurrence and with the same person being arrested. This occurred at Camp Bestival in 2023. Details as follows:

Nil return for End of the Road festival. This may be covered by Wiltshire Police.
