The Performance Analysis Department has provided the following information: 

Please note the request has asked for ‘full years’ between Dec 2015 and 2025, therefore I have provided 2016 – 2014 as the 2015 and 2025 will not be full years.

This data is from the offence Description ‘Engage in controlling / coercive behaviour in an intimate / family relationship (recordable)’ as recorded in Niche. 

1. For each calendar year since the offence of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship was introduced (December 2015), please provide the number of crimes recorded by your force under this offence. Please provide a figure for each full year 2016 - 2025

2. For the corresponding period as (1) and for the same offence, please provide the number of those cases that resulted in a charge being authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Please note, for the below data, a search was conducted for all suspects in relation to the offence which has a person link involvement of ‘charged.’ This returned 149 individuals, some of which may have had their cases dropped. The table below is the latest stats class status of ‘charged’ or ‘summonsed/postal requisition’ and applies to the occurrence.

3. For the corresponding period as (1+2), and for the same offence, please provide the number of those cases that resulted in the charged individual being found guilty at any court.
