Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/25/3840
Version Date: 06/11/2025
The Professional Standards Department has provided the following information:
This request relates to secondary business interests held by police officers only (not police staff) within the Force. Would you kindly confirm if any of your officers have a secondary business authorised to operate as an accredited driving instructor (ADI) please - for both motorcycles and motorcars?
We have checked our database and can find four police officers who have a business interest registered for a driving instructor role:
One application form states they are an Approved Driving Instructor, and one states the officer is training to become a qualified ADI Driving Instructor.
The other two officers stated they are training to be a Driving Instructor, but they do not state the qualification on the application form.
None of the forms specify motorcycles and/or motorcars.
