Fireworks-related incidents

The Performance Analysis Department has provided the following information:

For this request we created three queries to get the results. We duplicated the Storm query used to answer a previous FOI (ASB disposal codes) and added the following keyword searches into the incident description field: ‘firework’, ‘fire work’, and ‘rocket’.

I duplicated this query but removed the ASB disposals and added in the disposal for ANIMALS / WILDLIFE, this was a nil return. I then removed all disposal types from the filters, used the firework-related keywords in the first question in conjunction with the following keywords: ‘livestock’, ‘animal’, ‘dog’, ‘cat’, ‘cow’, ‘sheep’ and ‘wildlife’.

Please note that we have sorted the tables by the disposals, as they are recorded in Storm. There is one for ‘ANIMALS / WILDLIFE’ which does incorporate fireworks related incidents where animals are involved, but there is no way of breaking down whether the animal was a domestic pet or companion animal.

1. Fireworks-related incidents generally
   Please provide the total number of anti-social behaviour (ASB) incidents involving fireworks recorded by your force for each of the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
   
   2. Fireworks-related incidents involving pets or animals For each of those years, please indicate how many of these incidents involved domestic pets or companion animals (including any reports of injury, distress, or danger to such animals caused by fireworks).
   
   If your recording system does not specifically identify incidents involving pets or companion animals, please instead provide the number of incidents that involved animals of any kind.

   Where available, please indicate the final outcome or disposal of these incidents (for example: no further action, warning issued, community resolution, prosecution, referred to another agency, etc.).
   
   If outcome data are available for the animal-related subset of incidents, please provide a separate breakdown for those cases.
   
   

Using Niche, we created 3 separate queries linking the Niche Occurrence ID from Storm to link to the Latest Stats Class Status in Niche to get the outcomes.
