Mobile Phones Stolen by Mopeds

1. For the calendar years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and the current year 2025 so far, please provide the number of reported thefts or robberies involving mobile phones stolen by offenders on mopeds, motorbikes, pedal cycles, e-scooters or e-bikes. These are sometimes referred to as “snatch thefts” or “rob-and-run” crimes.
   2. For each of these incidents (if held), please provide:
   o          The age and gender of the victim.
   o          The age and gender of the suspect (if known or recorded).
   o          The approximate location of the offence, ideally broken down by city, town, village, or borough (for London boroughs in particular).
   
   

The Performance Analysis Department have provided the following information.

Searches were completed on Niche for the following SC descriptions:

• Attempt theft – other – including by theft ‘finding’ (recordable)
• Attempt theft from the person of another (recordable)
• Robbery (recordable)
• Robbery – Personal (recordable)
• Attempt robbery (recordable)
• Snatch Theft
• Theft – other – including theft by finding (recordable)
• Theft From A Person
• Theft other
• Theft from the person of another (recordable)

Searches were completed for location subtype of pavement, street and road.

For property make, searches were completed for phone and mobile phone.

The results were manually reviewed to determine relevance and this resulted a nil return.
