Version Date: 21/07/2025
What training is provided to officers in regards to a persons right to make and SAR?
Does this training include instruction on how officers are to process or forward a SAR?
The Alliance Information Management Department has provided the following information.
Staff receive the Data Protection eLearning modules which are compulsory as part of their training.
They also receive an in person or teams training session with a member of the Data Protection team, where a presentation is given around Data Protection, Freedom of Information, rules and regulations around Data Protection. This also includes a section of Subject Rights and Subject Access Requests, and they’re informed that if a member of the public stops them in the street or calls in and they request a Subject Access Request, details of that request should be forwarded to the Data Protection inbox as soon as possible.
