Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/25/003544/G
Version Date: 19/08/2025
The Performance Analysis (PA) Department have provided the following information.
To obtain this data, PA have filtered the Storm Incident Universe for the disposal of “Animals / Wildlife” and carried out a keyword search within the comments log for the following keywords:
• Bird
• Birds
• Seagull
• Pigeon
• Hawk
• Swan
• Duck
• Duckling
• Buzzard
Additionally, they have searched the Niche Crime Universe for occurrences with the standard occurrence type of “PS – Animals/Wildlife” along with the above keywords.
They have reviewed the 217 results to determine if they relate to the abuse of birds and if they happened in a public park.
Please note, Storm was implemented in October 2020, so no incident data is held prior to then. The Niche search spans the whole 5 years.
As stated above, this has been collated solely on keyword searches, as bird related offences are non-crimes.
