Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/25/3657
Version Date: 18/09/2025
The Dorset Road Safe Department have provided the following information.
I'm writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding the Town Bridge in Weymouth and fines issued for failing to stop at the bridge's warning signals.
I'd like to know the following:
How many similar incidents have been recorded at this location in the past three years?
241
Are there any plans to upgrade the warning system at the Town Bridge to improve visibility and audibility?
Dorset Police are not responsible for upgrading the warning system at the Town Bridge. This is the responsibility of the Local Authority, and this question should be redirected to Dorset Council.
