Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/25/003327/Z
Version Date: 26/06/2025
The Performance Analysis Department have provided the following information.
Performance Analysis have extracted from Niche Crime all occurrences that have a knife crime flag attached.
Please note that data prior to 21/05/2015 is unavailable as this was when Niche was introduced to the force.
This is the total number of occurrences of knife flagged crimes where the suspect was 17 or under.
I would like to know how many children (anyone under18) were found carrying knives or similarly logged weapons in the last decade?
Please could I have the figures broken down into each year (so 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).
