The Alliance Resourcing & Development Department has provided the following information:
1) Do you have AEDs (defibrillators) in your Force?
Yes
2) If yes, where are your AEDs stored? (e.g Response/Patrol, CID, Neighbourhood Policing, Firearms, Dog Units, Roads Policing. Public access?
All Enhanced Medic Bags (includes every Armed Response Vehicle), all Roads Policing Cars, all Police Stations, Workshops, and soon to be all Dogs Vehicles.
3) How many AEDs do you have?

4) What make and model are the AEDs please?
iPad SP1 Semi-Auto, iPad SP1 Full-Auto and Powerheart G50
5) How old are your AEDs and what year were they purchased?
Searches were completed within the Alliance Resourcing & Development Department and the Alliance Finance Department. This resulted in no information being held. This information is not recorded.
6) When would you look to replace your AEDs?
When defected or service/ancillaries for our models is no longer supported
7) Who in your organization deals with the maintenance of equipment, such as AEDs?
We have dedicated AED SPOC’s across departments/geographical areas.
Maintenance is overseen and facilitated by the First Aid Co-Ordinator and the Health and Safety Department.
8) Who is in charge of purchasing equipment such as AEDs?
Requests can be raised by any individual within Dorset Police.
Requests must be supported by the Budget Holder for that Command Area and by the First Aid Co-Ordinator and the Health and Safety Department.
9) Where do you purchase AEDs from?
WelMedical
10) Are your AEDs serviced?
AED’s are frequently checked and maintained by internal AED SPOC’s.
AED’s are only sent for service if a defect is identified that cannot be resolved locally.
