Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/26/004270/Y
Version Date: 20/04/2026
The Alliance Operations Department has provided the following information:
I would be grateful if you could provide the following information for your police force:
1. The date when body-worn video cameras were first introduced or piloted for operational use.
Information not held; this is not specifically recorded.
2. Whether the rollout was phased or implemented force-wide from the outset.
The rollout was phased, starting with firearms officers.
3. If the rollout was phased, the start and end dates of the rollout phases.
Information not held; it is unknown when the rollout phase started.
4. The date when body-worn video cameras became fully operational or routinely used across the force.
Cannot be confirmed, although most likely at the end of the phased roll out.
If exact dates are not available, approximate dates (for example, month and year) would be sufficient.
