The Road Safety Team and the Alliance Audit Insurance & Risk Department have provided the following information:
Please note that the following figures show injury road traffic collisions reported to the Police within 30 days of the occurrence. It does not include medical episodes, off-road collisions or confirmed suicides. All 2025 figures are subject to change.
Please provide data relating to offences on roads in England for the most recent three calendar years available. Specifically, I request:
1) A breakdown of roads or local authority areas ranked by the total number of reported hit-and-run incidents per calendar year (2023, 2024, 2025). Please break this down by severity - fatal, serious injury, slight injury, damage-only.

Third Party Costs/Damages relates to the costs incurred by third parties relating to damage to their vehicle and any legal costs relating specifically to a damage only claim.
Total Cost is the total cost, including Third Party Costs/Damages, Third Party Injury claims along with our own repair costs and legal costs. This includes costs incurred in non-fault claims where the third party was found to be at fault and we may have recovered some or all of these costs, including our full repair costs where liability may have been split
Number of Claims is the total number of recorded claims, including kerb strikes, found damage, collisions, etc as well as any tactical contact damage.
