Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 01/FIN/26/4380
Version Date: 19/03/2026
how many police officers you have fired / arrested for domestic violences between 2020 to 2025
The Professional Standards Department has provided the following information:
Searches were completed within NICHE for all crime occurrences between 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2025 which have a local qualifier flag of “Domestic Abuse (NPCC definition)”, and where an individual has been “Arrested” and is shown to have an Occupation of “Police Service”.
Six Police Officers are shown to have been arrested for Domestic Abuse (NPCC definition) offences between 2020 to 2025.
These were then cross referenced with conduct matters recorded between 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2025, linked to Police Officers, where the outcome was “Dismissal”.
Two of the Police Officers were dismissed.
Please note that this search depends on the individual having their occupation recorded on NICHE. Also, if the individual was arrested outside of Dorset this will not be recorded on our NICHE system.
