The Performance Analysis Department has provided the following information:
Please may you provide me with: the latest information held on crime relating to tool theft in the Dorset Police Force area between October 2024 and October 2025 (or the most recent 12-month period you have available).
Information should include,
1) Total number of instances of tool theft reported across the year = 153
2) Total value of tools theft reported across the year = £330,643.74. Please note – This value has been obtained via a combination of manual review and data populated within the property value fields; values stated range from precise, estimated, combined estimates including items that are not tools and sometimes not specified at all.
3) Average value of tools theft reported within the year timeframe = Averages are not recorded but could be calculated by 330,643.74 divided by 153. This gives an average of £2,161,07 per occurrence.
4) Any additional breakdown of where the tool theft took place (for example, number of thefts from vehicles, number from home, number from a workplace, number from a construction site) =
